Kerry Barham attended my clinic as a last effort in building a relationship with this horse. She was experiencing fear in the saddle due to lack of control and safety issues. She was ready to sell her horse. By Clinic's end, she had learned how to safely get the desired response from her horse and build on that foundation. She developed a new respect and admiration for her horse and to this day, selling him is not an option.


Here is Cheyenne Ibarra with her horse Jessica. Cheyenne was 13 when she came to my clinic and wanted to experience more control when Jessica's emotions were heightened in the arena and out on trail. Cheyenne learned the tools she needed to accomplish her goal but more importantly she practiced those tools faithfully every time she rode.

Here she is with Jessica getting her to give to the bit while she performs her shoulders over.

Clinic Schedules

The Ultimate Camp Clinic

The Ultimate 5-day Camp Clinic is held during the first 2 weeks of each month. Guests will arrive on Sunday and settle in. Instruction begins on Monday and concludes on Friday. We will start each day by 9:00 AM with lunch break from 12 noon -1:30 PM and finish at 5:00 PM. Departure for guests will be by Saturday 12 noon.
Dates for the 2012 Ultimate Camp Clinic:

Held at Reed Valley Ranch:

March 19 - 23

April 2 - 6

April 30 - May 4

May 28 - June 1

July 16 - 21

August 20 - 25

September 3 - 7

October 1 - 5

Where: Reed Valley Ranch - Hemet, California
Participation is limited to 4 guests per group.
Cost: $875.00 per rider includes accommodations
Accommodations consist of a bunkhouse that is equipped with a full bathroom, microwave as well as a refrigerator: There is a full kitchen available on the grounds in another building that participants can utilize.
Camping is available - Hook-ups are limited and will be booked to the first come basis. Tent, RV and Living quarters camping is welcome.
Horses: $15.00 per day for a pen - owner must provide hay and feed.
Price includes: Coffee will be provided in the morning and beverages during the day.

Accommodations: All accommodations must be made directly through each hosting guest ranch.

Saddle Series Rules:
• All AHCA Rules Will Apply
• Saddle Series is open to Amateurs Only
• Must attend 3 of 4 events to qualify
• AHCA Membership not required to compete
• Highest cumulative horse and rider team   score from the 4 events will win saddle.

    3-day Private Lesson

You will have Rick and I as your instructor for 3 days - Limited to 1 - 2 people only.

Geared towards the needs of the participant - starting with ground work and finishing in saddle. You set the days that work for you. Board for horse included.

Hosts the Ultimate Camp Clinic. This is a perfect opportunity to hone your skills on a spectacular 835 acre ranch obstacle course approved for the Extreme Cowboy Race. Clinics will be filled with fun learning for both you and your horse.
